Equipment
Schade and Sons Contracting operates a modern and reliable fleet of machinery to ensure efficient operation, consistent performance, and high-quality results in every job.
We run multiple John Deere 6140 tractors, which provide dependable power for our hay and forage equipment, including the New Holland H7450 Chevron roller and Massey Ferguson 1316S conditioning mowers with a 5-metre cutting width. These machines are designed to deliver clean, even cuts while promoting faster and more uniform drying of crops. Raking operations are carried out using a Kverneland rake, adjustable from 6.2 to 7.3 metres, allowing us to form consistent windrows suited to varying crop volumes and conditions.
For large square baling, we operate a Massey Ferguson 2234 baler, powered by a Fendt 627 Vario tractor. This tractor is fully equipped with advanced electronic systems that allow real-time monitoring of all baler functions, including bale moisture levels and bale weight, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and consistent bale quality.
The baler is also fitted with a HayBoss inoculant application system, enabling baling across a wider range of conditions while helping to improve fermentation, reduce spoilage risk, and produce more consistent, higher-quality bales.
All machinery is meticulously maintained and regularly serviced, ensuring reliability, precision, and minimal downtime. This commitment to equipment care allows us to meet customer demands efficiently and deliver dependable results season after season.
